Meet Cheryl Clendenon

Designer, firm owner, business growth strategist and podcast host. Cheryl has run In Detail Interiors on the Gulf Coast for 26 years, and has coached designers and architects since 2017.
Proven in her own firm first
The contrarian in your corner
Cheryl is the owner of a nationally recognized design firm and retail boutique, a business growth strategist, and the unapologetically bold voice behind the Damn Good Designer® podcast.
As the owner of a thriving design firm and a sought-after coach for rebellious, whip-smart designers, she’s built her career on questioning the status quo and helping others profit by doing the same. Known for her fast-talking wit, creative “what if” thinking and tactical business mind, Cheryl helps designers who don’t fit the mold build businesses that break the rules and lead the industry.
Her superpower? Seeing the unseen: engineering businesses from the inside out with equal parts imagination, flow and financial foresight. A lifelong researcher and relentless contrarian (ask her mom), Cheryl doesn’t sugar-coat the truth. She pushes her clients, her team and her audiences to think smarter, price with authority, and design lives and businesses that are both beautiful and profitable.
When she’s not leading her team or coaching the next wave of design entrepreneurs, you’ll find her dissecting financial strategies, debunking industry myths, and occasionally invoking a little Gulf Coast hoodoo magic to keep the storms at bay.
Her sacred words: Why, Percipient, Whizbang and Profit.
